Beautiful large scale model of the “Riva Ariston”. The shipyard “Riva” was founded in 1842 by Pietro Riva, originally a fisherman in Sarnico (Italy). When founded, the shipyard focused on repairing ships, building a good reputation for its high quality workmanship. Soon Riva turned to the complete construction of boats. The Riva Ariston is the most durable model of the shipyard's production, which began in 1950 and ended in 1974, with a total of 1012 units. It is based on the model of the Riva Corsaro, but was made larger: 6.52 m long and with seating for 6 people. The boat, named after a cinema in Milan: “Cinema Ariston”, was first equipped with 185hp Chris Craft engine, later powered by a 220hp engine and finally with a 290hp engine that allowed speeds up to 70km/h. In May 2000, Riva became part of the Ferretti Group, which brought it back to where it is today: as a recognized icon of refined Italian yacht boating art.
